Infectious diseases like cholera, typhoid and diarrheal diseases have been common in the past, though their rates have been decreasing. However, the inclusion of more processed foods in our diets has increased the rates of digestive diseases like colon and rectal cancers, diverticulitis and inflammatory bowel diseases.
